Our Streamlined Pool Leak Detection Process

We start by assessing the area around your pool to look for visible signs of water loss, like wet spots, sinking ground, or unusual plant growth.

Using specialized hydrophone equipment, we listen for leaks around all pool fittings, lights, and cracks, helping us detect structural leaks without any invasive procedures.

We closely inspect the tile line and skimmer seams/throats, as these areas often experience wear that can lead to leaks.

Leak Rescue uses a custom-made inspection camera that’s small enough to fit into gutters and through main drain grates, allowing us to access areas other companies cannot. We’re the only pool service provider with this unique technology, giving us the ability to locate leaks in hydrostat valves and inspect gutters thoroughly and efficiently.

For pools with vinyl liners, we conduct an electronic scan to pinpoint any pinhole leaks in the liner material. This step is essential for every vinyl liner pool. Without this specialized electronic scan, detecting tiny liner pinholes is nearly impossible, and hiring a service that skips this step could be a waste of time and money. Most liner pinhole leaks are barely visible to the naked eye, yet they can be a significant source of water loss.

To confirm if the plumbing is compromised, we perform a cone test or pressure test on the plumbing system. Leak Rescue has the capability to pressure test lines as small as 1/2" for intricate water features, up to 12" lines typically seen in competition-sized swimming pools. This versatility ensures precise leak detection across all pool types and plumbing configurations.

If a leak is detected within the pipes, we use acoustical amplification to pinpoint the exact location of the leak underground. This advanced technique allows us to address leaks quickly and with minimal disruption to your pool area.

Finally, we inspect the pool equipment to check for proper water circulation and identify any valve leaks that could be contributing to water loss.
